Web Accesible Design Centred on User Experience

چکیده
An accessible web page needs to follow the rules marked by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and WCAG 2.0 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). The problem of the rules AA of web accessibility is that they are centered on the programming requisites more than the user needs for graphic design, functionalities or content. An important factor to take in account in accessibility standards is the lack of distinction between the different user’s profiles, since every type of disability will have particular requisites it will be difficult that standards adapt themselves to the needs of the final user. With the target of improving the reliability of the information obtained in studies of accessibility for web pages a project based on the integration of different methodologies has been realized. The methodological design applied in this study centers on the participation of the users like principal item to obtain significant results. Using methods centered on users more than accessibility standards allows obtaining reliable information about the real needs of the users. Departing from this basis is able to get a web site design properly adapted to the user’s needs.

Exploring the balance of aesthetics and usability in Web design to enhance user experience, we use an effective, intimidate method to understand user emotions in Web site interaction. “Emotional Probes” (EPs), combining rapid ethnographic surveys with the Cultural Probes (CPs) approach, can enhance designers’ understanding of user emotional engagement with web design. The dominant user experien...

New paradigms, such as Open Innovation (Chesbrough, 2003) and Web 2.0 (O’Reilly, 2004) as well as Living Labs operating as a User Centred Open Innovation Ecosystem (Pallot, 2009), promote a more proactive role of users in the R&D process. However, a number of existing methods for involving users are abundantly described in the literature, such as Lead User (Von Hippel, 2005), User Driven Innova...
متن کاملUsabilityNet Methods for User Centred Design
There is a wide variety of conflicting guidance available on appropriate methods to use to support user centred design. The ISO 13407 standard provides a framework for applying user centred design, without stipulating which methods should be used. Based on wide experience of EC and commercial projects, the TRUMP and UsabilityNet projects selected sets of methods to support ISO 13407 that have b...
متن کاملIntercultural aspects of Web Design: approaches to Culture-Centred Design
This paper addresses culturally rooted factors within web design and how their theoretical study must affect the design process. We describe and relate theories that have developed over a period of 20 years, traceable in the published literature. We follow the links that connect them in the study of cultural and cognitive aspects in web design and how they finally converge in practical recommen...
